If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the operators of Pickle Bracket Lab.

2. Description of Service

Pickle Bracket Lab is a browser-based tournament management tool designed for organizing and running pickleball round-robin tournaments. The Service provides scheduling, scoring, standings tracking, bracket playoff generation, and session save/resume functionality. No user account or registration is required to use the Service.

3. Intellectual Property

The name "Pickle Bracket Lab", the application design, user interface, and all underlying algorithms — including but not limited to the constraint-aware round-robin scheduling algorithm and bye-distribution logic — are the exclusive intellectual property of the Service operators and are protected by applicable copyright and trade secret laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works based on any part of the Service without prior written permission. Unauthorized use of the scheduling algorithm or any proprietary component of the Service is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

The scheduling algorithm powering this Service runs exclusively on protected servers and is not exposed in client-side code. Any attempt to extract, replicate, or circumvent this protection constitutes a violation of these Terms and applicable law.

4. Permitted Use

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service solely for your personal, non-commercial use in organizing pickleball tournaments. You may not:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or its related systems.
  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service using automated tools.
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service without written authorization.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

5. Password and Access

The Service may be protected by a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any access credentials. You agree not to share access credentials with unauthorized parties or attempt to bypass the access control mechanisms of the Service.

6. Data and Privacy

The Service stores tournament data locally in your browser (localStorage) and does not transmit personal information to external servers beyond what is necessary to generate tournament schedules. Player names entered into the Service are processed solely for the purpose of generating tournament schedules and are not retained by the Service operators after your session ends.

By using the Service, you consent to the processing of player names and tournament configuration data as described above.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU, IF ANY, FOR ACCESSING THE SERVICE.

9. Modifications to Terms

The Service operators reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Service.
